Where were my Think! shoes made?
viertel, in the west of Upper Austria, where the hilly, forested Bohemian Massif stretches to the Bavarian border, lies the Sauwald. Shoemaking has a long tradition here, just as in Kopfing im Innkreis, where Martin Koller, son of a 200 year old shoemaking dynasty, did not want to accept the fact that “healthy shoes look so terribly ugly”.
His strong determination to change this and create unique shoes with ecological standards and a perfect fit would not let him rest. So in 1990 the first Think! shoes rolled off the production line in Martin Koller’s workshop.
Today, the company’s source of inspiration and creativity is located in Kopfing. Our shoes are manufactured by highly-trained leather craftsmen, based exclusively at our long-standing partner business in Bosnia, Italy, Hungary and Romania. Up to 200 work stages – almost all of them by hand – are necessary to create a Think! shoe out of passion, leather and other natural materials. According to the tradition of experienced master-shoemakers, we only sell shoes that meet the highest of standards. Think! shoes: good when on foot, made by hand.
Made in Europe
Europe is more than a production location – it is a point of view. Short transport routes and flexible, fair production balance out the higher costs associated with our European location. In line with sustainable production, the compliance of our partner businesses with ecological and social standards is important and is regularly checked.
